A complete custom icon set for an energy brand — chargers, vehicles, payments and features — drawn in Adobe Illustrator, no AI, no stock, no shortcuts.

Every shape sits on a shared construction grid with locked stroke weights and corner radii, so the system reads as one voice across web, app, print and signage.

Design challenge

A neon language that holds at every size.

Generic stock icons would have broken the brand the moment they sat next to its packaging and signage. The system needed a distinctive neon outline aesthetic — but still had to be precise, legible and consistent at 16px and at billboard scale.

Every icon had to share the same stroke weight, corner radius and grid logic, while still telling its own story — a charger looks like a charger, a vehicle like a vehicle, with no ambiguity.

Icon development process

    Brand immersion

    Studied the energy brand's neon visual language — saturated outlines, soft glow halos, deep wine background — and translated it into a strict construction rulebook.

  2. 02

    Concept sketches

    Mapped every product, action and feature to a single iconic metaphor — charger, vehicle, payment, spark — keeping the metaphor library tight and unambiguous.

  3. 03

    Vector construction

    Drew every icon in Adobe Illustrator on a shared pixel grid, with consistent stroke weights, rounded caps, and a fixed corner radius across the entire system.

  4. 04

    Glow & color system

    Built the neon halo with layered SVG filters and color tokens — one palette per product family — so brand teams can recolor an icon without breaking its construction.

  5. 05

    SVG delivery

    Exported optimised, named SVG masters with cleaned paths and grouped layers — drop-in for web, app, print and motion, scalable to billboards without a single rasterised edge.
