AI tools in October 2026: Kling 4.0, Eleven v4 and Midjourney's Thinking Mode

The last few weeks were busy for anyone who makes visuals with AI. Here is what changed in the tools we use at the studio, and why it matters if you need product images, ads or short films.
Kling 4.0: longer, sharper video
Kling announced version 4.0 at the end of September. Early access started on September 28, and the full model is planned for October. The headline numbers: native clips from 3 to 30 seconds, 4K output, 21:9 ultrawide, up to 10 keyframes and up to 15 reference files per generation — images, videos, characters and even voice.
Eleven v4: voices that act
ElevenLabs released Eleven v4 on September 28. It speaks more than 90 languages and keeps the same voice across them. You can describe how a line should sound in plain words, and add tags like laughter. A voice clone now needs only about 10 seconds of audio.
Midjourney: Thinking Mode and shared folders
Midjourney is testing a Thinking Mode on its alpha site. You rerun an image with "Rerun (Thinking)", and the goal is better prompt accuracy, typography and coherence. There is no new default model this month, but the V8.2 editor keeps improving, and shared folders now let a team or a client view and collaborate on the same set of images.
Higgsfield and Runway: everything in one place
Higgsfield added Nano Banana 2.1 with output up to 4K, FLUX 3 for images and Grok Imagine Video 1.5 with sound. It also gave Ad Multiplier a visual interface for remaking video ads with your own product, cast and locations. Runway now works inside Premiere Pro, After Effects and DaVinci Resolve, and can change a video's frame rate up to 120 fps.
