Krea 3: what it changes for AI product image editing
Krea 3 edits images at 2K in under 8 seconds, keeps labels and colours intact and changes only the area you box. What it means for product visuals.

Krea has released Krea 3, a new image model built for fast, precise editing, and it is now the default model in the Krea app. Krea says it finishes a 2K edit in under 8 seconds, keeps products, logos and text consistent between edits, and can change only the part of the image you draw a box around. For product visuals, that is the interesting part.
What is Krea 3?
Krea 3 is Krea's newest model for making and editing images from plain-language instructions. Krea opened the beta on 15 October 2026, and it is available to everyone in the app, through the Krea API and through partners such as fal, Together AI and ComfyUI.
- native 2K output, with a choice of 1K or 2K in the app
- several reference images in one request — up to eight, per Krea's product page
- a faster mode and a higher-quality mode in the API; Krea 3 Ultra needs a Max plan
Edit one region and leave the rest alone
Krea 3 can redraw only inside a box you draw and describe, and leave the rest of the image untouched. On its product page, Krea shows a test in "Precise" mode where no pixels outside the edit area changed; that is Krea's own single test, not an independent benchmark. In the API, regional edits are available today.
Speed and price per edit
Krea says Krea 3 is several times faster than Nano Banana Pro, and lists about $0.06 for a 2K edit, compared with about $0.135 for Nano Banana Pro. Krea also reports Krea 3 Ultra in fourth place on Arena's Multi-Image Edit leaderboard. All of these numbers come from Krea, so treat them as claims until you test them on your own images.
What it changes for brands and creators
Krea 3 is aimed at the jobs product teams do every week. Krea's guide lists product photography in new scenes, consistent characters across poses and lighting, precise changes to objects, materials, colours or text, and sketches turned into finished images.
- Good fit: new scenes around a real product photo, material or colour variants, small fixes to a hero image
- Check carefully: small text and labels (use 2K), exact brand colours (compare against your reference)
- Not yet: weighted style references, moodboards and LoRAs from Krea 2 — Krea's docs say they are not supported in Krea 3 yet
How to try it
Open Krea, pick Krea 3 in the model picker (it is the default) and the app shows the cost before you run. Start from a real product photo, add your references and say what each one is for, then describe one change at a time. For brand colours, include the HEX value and compare the result with your reference photo.
